France, Germany, Italy Discuss Migrant Crisis; EU Asks More Nations Open Ports to Migrants

Interior ministers from France, Germany, and Italy together with the European Union (EU) migration commissioner met in Paris this week to discuss Italy's migrant crisis, the Euro News website reports today (July 3, 2017).

Italy has threatened to block ships that have been transporting an "unsustainable" flow of migrants to its shores.

Italy has admitted more than 500,000 migrants since 2014, and the numbers are growing.

The EU wants other member states to allow migrant boats to dock in their ports in order to alleviate the growing pressure on Rome.
