Nigeria Frees 12 Women, Kids from Boko Haram; 219 Kidnapped Schoolgirls Linger on as Captives

At least a dozen women and children -- who were kidnapped by the Islamic militant group Boko Haram -- have been freed, the Christian Headlines website reports today (September 23, 2015).

The women and children were being held captive in Nigeria where Boko Haram has been carrying out suicide bombings.

Hundreds of women and children have been freed by the Nigerian army during the past year, but Boko Haram fighters continue to use many more kidnapped victims in their attacks.

None of the recently freed victims accounted for any of the 219 schoolgirls who were abducted in April 2014, most of whom Boko Haram continues to use as sex slaves.
