Romania to Make School Uniforms Compulsory; Decision Is Designed to Reduce Social Divisions

The Balkan Insight website reports today (April 11, 2012) that Romania -- in an effort to reduce social discrepancies between pupils -- is planning to make school uniforms compulsory in its public schools.

The Romanian parliament -- backed by most of its members and by most parents -- is expected to soon introduce mandatory school uniforms at primary and secondary school levels.

The government has already announced its support for the move, after the first calls came from parents' unions. Poorer families will be able to apply for funds to buy the uniforms.

Most private and international school pupils in Romania already wear uniforms.

  1. That is good. That is a good idea to avoid some gap between students. Because without having to wear a school uniform, this concept will be applied "birds with the same feather flocks together" so those students with less, or let us say that they are inferior when it comes to wealth, they will not be out of place.

Lets work for better Romania so many tourists will opt for romania trips.
