The suspected mastermind of the Strasbourg Christmas Market shooting this week has been killed by police, The Daily Beast website reports today (December 13, 2018).
Cherif Chekatt, 29, a Muslim radical, was found by police in a warehouse near his residence in the "Neudorf area" of Strasbourg, where they shot him dead.
In a statement, the Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the market shooting.
Five people were arrested for the mass shooting that left three people dead and 12 wounded.
