In the current dispute between the U.S. and a defiant North Korea, Pope Francis has warned it is an issue that has reached a boiling point and threatens us all with nuclear destruction, the Euro News website reports today (May 1, 2017).
The pontiff said he believed a third country -- such as Norway -- should try to mediate the crisis amid growing tensions.
The pope asserted: "A widened war would destroy not half of humanity but a large part of humanity. It would be terrible."
He added, "Let's stop and find a diplomatic solution [to the North Korean crisis]."
