Islamic State (IS) suicide bombers today (May 17, 2017) attacked Afghanistan's national radio and television station in Jalalabad, according to the UPI website.
Three militants stormed the compound housing Radio Television Afghanistan in the eastern Afghan city, and two of the suicide bombers blew themselves up.
A TV employee died and 16 were injured in the attack, a local hospital director confirmed.
IS and Taliban militants have been increasing deadly terrorist activities in Jalalabad -- which is near Afghanistan's border with Pakistan -- as well as other Afghan regions in recent months.
