Texas Quits Feds' Refugee Resettlement Program; TX Gov. Says More Refugees Result in Terror Acts

Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas announced today (September 21, 2016) that the state of Texas is withdrawing from the Obama administration's refugee resettlement program due to the administration's inability to ensure that refugees resettled in the state do not pose terror threats, according to the Fox News website.

Texas informed the Office of Refugee Resettlement in a letter that it will be withdrawing from the program on January 31, 2017.

Gov. Abbott asserted that Texas would not accept a single refugee until proper security measures are put in place.

Texas joins the states of Kansas and New Jersey, which have already rejected the refugee resettlement program due to its likelihood of increasing terror attacks.
