Officials in France say they foiled an attack on the Gare de Lyon, one of the busiest train stations in Paris, The Daily Beast website reports today (September 9, 2016).
Three women were arrested this week near Paris in connection with the planned attack, which was set to take place on September 8, said French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve.
The women -- ages 19, 23, and 39 -- had been linked to the car found last weekend at the Notre Dame cathedral with gas cylinders inside.
Cazeneuve called the women "radicalized and fanaticized," and he said they were preparing to carry out a "new and imminent violent action."
