At least six explosions in Syrian cities killed more than 43 people today (September 5, 2016), according to the Syrian Arab News Agency.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks, most of which targeted government-controlled areas.
Bombs were detonated in Tartus, Homs, Damascus, and Hasakeh around the same time.
More than 30 of the victims were likely killed in two bombs that were detonated in Tartus, while another eight were killed when an ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) militant on a motorcycle blew himself up in Hasakeh.
