Pope Calls for Reconciliation to Replace War; Asks Thousands on Easter Monday to Use Jesus' Model

On Easter Monday, known in Italy as Pasquetta or little Easter,  Pope Francis called for reconciliation instead of war, as he addressed thousands of people in St.Peter's Square, the Crux website reports today (April 19, 2022).

"May the grace of the risen Lord bring comfort and hope to those who are suffering, so that no one is abandoned," Frances said at noon Rome time. "May disputes, wars, conflicts give way to understanding and reconciliation."

The pope noted that what Jesus did with His "Calvary and resurrection," is to reconcile humanity, both with God the Father and with each other.
