Finland, Sweden Plan to Join NATO by Summer; Due to Russia's Unprovoked Invasion of Ukraine

Russia has made a "massive strategic blunder" as Finland and Sweden now plan to join NATO as early as summer, the Jerusalem Post website reports today (April 12, 2022).

U.S. officials said that NATO membership for both Nordic countries was "a topic of conversation and multiple sessions" during talks between the alliance's foreign ministers last week attended by Sweden and Finland.

Russia's recent invasion and ongoing war in Ukraine have caused several European countries to seek enhancing their military potential, as a Russian attack could occur at any time.
