Bosnia Court Orders US Embassy Attacker Held; Serbian Muslm Opened Fire on Sarajevo Embassy

The Europe News website reports today (November 2, 2011) that a state court in Bosnia has ordered the detention on terrorism charges of a gunman who opened fire with an assault rifle on the U.S. embassy -- striking its walls with several bullets -- in the capital, Sarajevo, last month.

Judge Nenad Seleda ordered that Mevlid Jasarevic -- a 23-year-old Serbian Muslim -- be detained for a month to prevent him from fleeing the country.

Jasarevic said he did not recognize the court.

"I do not recognize your court. It is worthless before Allah," he told the judge during his appearance in court.
