The postal service and a Long Island homeowner are in a standoff over a Halloween decoration that the African-American mailman views as being racist, according to the Drudge Report website.
Richard Beatty has been decorating his Brentwood house for years with homemade Halloween décor, including makeshift gallows and a noose with a skeleton hanging from it.
This year, the postmaster himself knocked on Beatty's door and told him that his mail was being suspended until he took down the Halloween decorations.
Beatty responded, "Do what you have to do because I'm not taking them down."
