At least 30 percent of the Central American migrants in Tijuana, Mexico are sick with communicable diseases they might spread to Americans in schools, hospitals, welfare and employment offices and other public places, The New American website reports today (November 29, 2018).
And by "sick" officials in Mexico mean serious diseases. In fact, the diseases many of the migrants carry are deadly -- or can be.
Out of 6,000 migrants currently residing in Tijuana, over a third of them (2,267) are being treated for health-related issues.
Diseases of the migrants include tuberculosis, AIDS, and chickenpox. Also, they've brought in real bugs, and over 100 carry lice and skin infections.
