President Donald Trump slammed AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka today (September 3, 2018), Labor Day, accusing him of speaking against working people and the U.S. in a weekend TV appearance, according to the Newsmax website.
"Richard Trumka, the head of AFL-CIO, represented his union poorly on television this weekend," Trump tweeted.
Trumka had criticized Trump during a Fox TV interview, saying that while employment figures are good, wages are down and gas prices are up, "so workers aren't doing that well."
In a later twitter post today, Trump said, "Happy Labor Day! Our country is doing better than ever before with unemployment setting record lows."
