Donald Trump was told yesterday to stop berating European countries over how much they spend on their military forces, the Euro News website reports today (July 10, 2018).
The U.S. President often complains that Washington pays too much into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), a military alliance of several European countries, the U.S., and Canada.
Donald Tusk, president of the European Union (EU), hit back at Trump on the eve of the NATO summit in Brussels.
"Dear America, appreciate your allies, you don't have that many," Tusk said after signing a statement on cooperation between the EU and NATO.
