Palestinian in West Bank Throws Acid on 4 Girls; Girls' Father Picked Up Palestinian Hitch-Hiker

A Jewish family of six has been the victim of an acid attack in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, injuring a father and his four young girls, the Euro News website reports today (December 12, 2014).

Israeli police and military say a vehicle carrying the family picked up a hitch-hiker near a security checkpoint south of Jerusalem.

The hitch-hiker threw a liquid acid over four young girls and tried to attack the father with a screwdriver. The father escaped.

The suspect -- who the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) say was a Palestinian -- was shot at the scene by a civilian. He remains in serious condition.
