Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) nations to support an international mission on the Ukraine-Belarus border, the Sky News website reports today (October 11, 2022).
Speaking a day after several Russian missiles rained down on Ukraine, Zelensky made the calls after Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said Belarus and Russia would deploy a joint military group in response to what he called an "aggravation of tension on the country's western borders," referring to last week's bombing of the Russian-built bridge on the Crimean Peninsula.
Lukashenko also said the two countries would deploy a regional military group, and already had started pulling forces together.
