As part of a broader European initiative designed to empower young people and encourage their social involvement, Europe's bishops have launched their own new Platform where youth can share perspectives on key policy areas, the Crux website reports today (October 9, 2022).
In an Oct. 6 press release for the new initiative, called Youth Net, Jean-Claude Hollerich of Luxembourg invited young delegates to "make the Youth Net a place of true fraternity, an example of how we can be brothers and sisters, aware of our unique cultural identities, truly united in diversity."
Hollerich, who is also president of the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Union (COMECE), said: "This new consultative body will promote the concrete participation of young European Catholics in shaping EU policies."
