A federal court has ruled that a Catholic school in Indiana can lawfully refuse to renew the contract of a guidance counselor in a same-sex marriage, the Christian Post website reports today (October 4, 2022).
Judge Richard Young of the U.S. Court of Southern Indiana ruled that Roncalli High School and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis have a "ministerial exception" to choose school leaders who uphold Catholic teachings.
The fact that the woman school guidance counselor was married to another woman is a violation of Catholic teachings forbidding same-sex marriage.
