Many Russians came for a last look of former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev today (September 3, 2022), who died August 30 at the age of 91,the AP website reports.
Gorbachev launched drastic reforms that helped end the Cold War, but he also helped to ascertain the breakup of the Soviet Union, which current Russian President Vladimir Putin has called the 20th century's "greatest geopolitical catastrophe."
Putin did not attend Gorbachev's funeral, claiming he was "too busy" to attend.
