The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has determined that employers will be allowed to require employees to get COVID-19 vaccine, and block them from entering the workplace if the refuse, the Huff Post website reports today (December 26, 2020).
The commission said that such a requirement does not violate the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which forbids employers from performing medical exams on employees.
While the ADA usually shields people from having their employers inquire about their personal health, it does permit employers to ensure that any one employee "shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of individuals in the workplace."
