Judge Allows Cross to Stay on Penn. County Seal; FFRF Filed a Church-State Separation Lawsuit

A federal appeals court ruled on August 8 that the cross on Lehigh County's seal in Pennsylvania does not violate the Constitution, the Christian Post website reports today(August 10, 2019).

Circuit Judge Thomas Hardiman cited the Supreme Court decision in favor of a large cross memorial on public property in Bladensburg, Maryland.

Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) had filed a lawsuit against the county in 2016.

FFRF is an atheist organization that seeks a complete separation of church and state.
