Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer to Retire; Will Let Biden Solidify the Court's Liberal Block

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. 83, has decided to retire, the NY Daily News website reports today (January 26, 2022).

Breyer's decision to step down means Biden can try to solidify the three-judge liberal block on the conservative-dominated nine-judge court with a younger jurist.

Breyer plans to announce his retirement decision on January 27 and will remain on the bench until the end of the court's current term in the summer.
