The FBI has identified the man who took a rabbi and other people hostage at a Dallas-area synagogue yesterday in an hour-long standoff with law enforcement officials as 44-year-old British citizen Malik Faisal Akra, the Washington Post website reports today (January 16, 2022).
Matthew DeSarno, the FBI special agent in charge of the Dallas field office, confirmed the identity of the Colleyville, Texas hostage-taker. Authorities had previously said the suspect was killed.
The FBI said there is no indication that other individuals were involved.
