A suspect has been arrested in connection with the fire that burned to the ground a historic synagogue in northern Minnesota, the JTA (Jewish Telegraphic Agency) website reports today (September 16, 2019).
The Adas Israel Synagogue in Duluth, Minnesota caught fire on the morning of September 9.
The building was more than 100 years old.
Matthew James Amiot, 36, who is homeless, was arrested on September 13 on a first-degree arson charge. He will appear in St. Louis County court in Duluth on September 23, according to reports.
