A Chasidic Jewish man was assaulted and robbed in Brooklyn on September 17, the Jewish News website reports today (September 22, 2019).
Police said the attack in the heavily Jewish Williamsburg neighborhood is not being considered a hate crime because no antisemitic slurs were made.
Instead, police are calling the incident a random attack and robbery.
Four men cornered the man, then punched and kicked him. The victim,24, surrendered his cellphone to his attackers.
