In what is viewed by many people as a case that supports child rape, an innocent 10-year-old girl has been forced to marry a 22-year-old man in Iran, the Metro (British) website reports today (September 14, 2019).
The case has provoked widespread condemnation as the girl appears to be smiling, clearly unaware of what is really happening.
Iran's Sharia Law has set the legal age of marriage for a girl at 13, and for a boy at 15.
However, marriage can still be carried out at a younger age with the consent of the father or paternal grandfather and the permission from a court judge.
