Pope Francis has prayed for more than 100 victims in the string of terror attacks that rocked Syria this week, and those responsible for the blasts asking God's compassion to "convert" the hearts of IS (Islamic State) terrorists, the RT (ReTweet) website reports today (May 26, 2016).
While speaking during his weekly audience in Saint Peter's Square yesterday, Pope Francis asked God to "convert the hearts of those who sow death and destruction."
He also prayed for "eternal rest to the victims" and "consolidation to their relatives."
The pope strongly condemned the fact that most victims were innocent civilians and voiced grief over the deaths of eight children.
