Leaked files obtained by the Sky News website indicate that Syrian President Bashar Assad has been colluding with ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) to arrange deals on the battlefield, the Christian Today website reports today (May 3, 2016).
One example of cooperation was an agreement that ISIS would withdraw from the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra -- which in fact it did -- to allow Assad's regime to recapture it.
The leaked files indicate that Assad made deals with ISIS in order to defeat the rebels seeking to overthrow him as president.
The documents -- which were leaked by ISIS defectors -- also claim that trade arrangements between Assad's government and ISIS have been going on for years.
