Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has compared Russia to Nazi Germany and invoked World War II as his country resists the invasion by Moscow's forces, the Newsweek website reports today (March 9, 2022).
Zelensky denounced Russia's actions in a Twitter post hours after Russian troops invaded Ukraine.
"Russia treacherously attacked our state, as Nazi Germany did in [World War II] years," Zelensky wrote. "As of today, our countries are on different sides of world history."
