Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has spoken with the Vatican on ending the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Worthy News website reports today (March 11, 2022).
The Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, spoke with Lavrov by phone on March 9, amid indications of the Vatican's growing involvement in diplomatic efforts to end Europe's worst conflict since World War II.
Lavrov laid out Russia's position on Ukraine and expressed hope for another round of peace talks between Moscow and Kyiv, according to sources familiar with the discussions.
