President Joe Biden today (August 12, 2021) called on Congress to allow Medicare to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies to drive down the cost of prescription medications, according to the UPI website.
"For every other type of healthcare service, Medicare works to get the best prices for American seniors but for prescription drugs," the White House said in a statement today.
Millions of Americans are buying their drugs from Canada and other foreign nations, because the cost is less than half the U.S. cost.
