Catholic activists in Brazil are demanding an independent investigation into the most lethal police operation in the history of Rio de Janeiro, which resulted in the deaths of 28 people, the CRUX website reports today (May 11, 2021).
The activists have joined civic organizations and social movements in condemning the massacre of May 6, and demanding an independent investigation on the actions of the policemen involved in it.
The anti-drug raid began in the morning of May 6 in the city's Jacarezinho slum.
