Half-Million People in US Have Died from COVID; More Died Than in WWII, Korean, Vietnam Wars

More than half a million people in the U.S. have now died from COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic about a year ago, The Daily Beast website reports today (February 22, 2021).

That figure is over twice that of any other nation, and more American deaths than occurred in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War combined.

From failing to test early and effectively for cases to mediocre and halting lockdowns, everything about the U.S. COVID-19 response has been lackluster.

The recent rollout of vaccines and the easing of post-holiday surges are now showing early signals of reducing deaths.
