Five male students at Creston (Iowa) Community High School have been disciplined after a photo showing the five wearing Ku Klux Klan hoods circulated on the Internet today (September 6, 2017), according to the Omaha website.

The photo -- posted on Twitter and Facebook -- shows the students in front of a burning cross. One of the students is holding a rifle with a scope on it, while another is holding a Confederate flag.

Principal Bill Messerole said the five in the photo are students. He called the issue a "student discipline issue that has been dealt with."

He would not specify how the students were disciplined. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
