Senate Democrats voted today (August 6, 2022) to begin debate on a bill that aims to lower health-care costs, combat climate change, and reduce the federal budget deficit, according to the Washington Post website.
The vote came seven months after internal bickering scuttled Democratic efforts to reduce gfreenhouse gas emissions, and low prescription drug costs.
Sen. Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said today on the Senate floor ,"Where previous efforts have fallen short, this Senate majority is on the verge of succeeding."
