Palestinian medical officials said today (August 1, 2015) that Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian teenager near the border fence in the northern Gaza Strip yesterday, the Christian Today website reports.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said several suspects approached the fence and threw stones at it.
She added that the soldiers fired warning shots for the group to stop throwing stones before firing at the suspects. Hospital officials identified the dead teenager as Mohammed al-Masri, 17.
Israel enforces a 300-meter-deep security no-go zone on the Gaza side of the fence.
