Pope Francis Represents a Break from Past Popes; Made Cath. Church Less European,More American

 Pope Francisis is represnting a significant break from previous popes, the Catholic Herald website reports today (July 20, 2022).

Although of Italian descent, the pope comes from Latin America and has changed his more liberal perspective and general worldview.

While it is often remarked upon that the College of Cardinals increasingly reflects the pope's more liberal leanings and represents an attempt by the pontiff to secure his legacy, it is obviously a less European affair  now as well, as the Church membership is increasingly concentrated in the American and Global South.
