Al Qaeda Head Sends Message for Sept. 11 Anniv.; Calls for Attacks on US Soil to "Bleed" Finances

Al Qaeda terror network leader Ayman al-Zawahri has sent out a message marking September 11, 2001, with a call for more attacks on U.S. soil, aimed at hitting America hard in the pocketbook, the Washington Times website reports today (September 14, 2013).

The Muslim terror leader released an audio recording on September 12, saying America is hardly a "mythical power" and that Islamic holy warriors -- or mujahedeen -- can surely defeat the nation "on its own soil."

He called on al Qaeda militants to set off a number of smaller attacks to "bleed" America's finances, or go for another "big strike" like the September 11, 2001 hit. In other words, Al Qaeda forces should perform any action they can to create a "state of tension," fear, and instability in America.

His message appeared on a website that is often used by al Qaeda as a message board.
