Man Is Indicted for Throwing Bleach on NY Rabbi; Was Mad Rabbi Published Abuse by Hasidic Jews

A Hasidic Jew has been indicted on charges he threw bleach into the face of a New York rabbi who publishes claims of child sexual abuse in the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community, the Christian Broadcast Network website reports today (December 29, 2012).

Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes said that Meilech Schnitzler has been indicted on two counts of attempted assault, two counts of assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.

The top charge carries a potential prison sentence of 15 years.

Prosecutors say Schnitzel threw a cup of bleach in the face and eye of Rabbi Nathan Rosenberg on December 11. The government also says the men knew each other.
