Commander at Lackland AFB in Texas Dismissed; Due to Six Instructors' Sexual Abuse of Women

The Daily Beast website reports today (August 11, 2012) that the sex scandal at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas has cost a top commander there his job.

Col. Glenn Palmer was dismissed yesterday due to his inability to effectively lead the 737th Training Group.

Six Lackland instructors have been charged with a variety of sexual crimes -- including rape and adultery -- against women students at the base.

Investigators estimate that about 40 women were targeted by superiors who used their rank to coerce them for sexual favors.
