U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren launched her 2020 presidential campaign today (February 9, 2019), saying she is fighting for all Americans, according to the Euro News website.
The Massachusetts Democrat -- a leader of the party's progressive wing -- made her announcement from a historic site in Lawrence, northwest of Boston, that launched the first organized workers' movement in the U.S.
Warren, 69, has made worker rights, fair wages, and access to health care central to her campaign.
However, her controversial claim of describing her race as American Indian -- for which she has repeatedly apologized -- has had a negative impact on her popularity.
