Pope Francis says the world wants "concrete measures" to tackle child sexual abuse by priests -- and not just "simple and obvious condemnations," the Euro News website reports today (February 21, 2019).
Speaking at a four-day summit at the Vatican, he said "the cry of the little ones seeking justice" had to be heard.
He's under pressure to provide leadership and generate workable solutions after details of sexual abuse emerged across the world -- with the Church accused of covering up crimes.
Survivors of abuse are calling for greater transparency and accountability over past abuse, and for a zero tolerance policy to be adopted.
