The Telegraph (British) website reports today (February 16, 2012) that Whitney Houston's funeral -- to be held in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday (February 18) -- will be private, but the ceremony will be live-streamed on the Internet so her fans can pay their respects and grieve for the singing star.
The funeral will be shown on the Livestream website on Saturday, and will also be available on some satellite TV services.
Houston died in Beverly Hills, California last Saturday -- presumably from accidentally taking too many drugs -- at the age of 48. The service will be held at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, where Houston sang in the choir during her childhood and teenage years.
Bobby Brown -- Houston's ex-husband who many blame for her drug addiction -- has been asked to stay away from her funeral; however, for the sake of the couple's 18-year-old daughter, family members said he will not be turned away from the private service.
