U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has approached Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with a proposal to donate or sell weapons to Ukraine in exchange for $200 million in U.S. aid, the Kathimerini website reports on Jan.28, 2024.
In his official letter, Blinken writes that the U.S. is interested in defense assets that Greece could transfer or sell to Ukraine.
"Should these capabilities be of interest to Ukraine, and pending a U.S. government review of their condition and associated value, we can explore opportunities for potential additional FMF funding of up to U.S. $200 million for Greece."
