President Joe Biden today (February 25, 2022) announced that he is nominating federal appellate judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court to replace Justice Stephen Breyer who is retiring, according to the UPI website.
Biden said late last month hat he would follow through on a campaign promise to nominate the first Black woman to the high court, and that he would announce his choice before the end of February.
The President has chosen Jackson, whom he appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit last summer. She is a graduate of Radcliffe College and Harvard Law School.
