Police Disperse Some 2,000 Protesters in Prague; Protest against Govt. Measures to Fight COVID-19

Czech riot police deployed tear gas, flashbang grenades, and water cannon to disperse some 2,000 protesters who refused to leave Prague's Old Town Square after a rally against government measures to fight the coronavirus, the RT website reports today (October 18, 2020). 


The defiant demonstrators clashed with police, pelting the officers with stones and firecrackers. 


Several dozen people were reported injured in the skirmish, including members of the police force. 


The rally was gathered to object to government rules on the COVID-19 epidemic. Dozens of arrests were made relating to the riot.
