Pope Francis yesterday appointed British-born Matteo Bruni as the new Director of the Holy See Press Office, the Independent Catholic News website reports today (July 19, 2019).
Born on November 23, 1976 in Winchester, Bruni graduated in modern and contemporary foreign languages and literature from Rome's La Sapienza University.
He has been working since July 2009 at the Holy See Office.
Besides Italian, he is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
