Anti-Semitic Graffiti Is Painted on NY Sidewalk; Rabbi: It Shows "Ignorance, Hate, Spitefulness"

Authorities are investigating after anti-Semitic graffiti was found spray-painted on a sidewalk in a predominantly Orthodox Jewish neighborhood of New York's Rockland County, the CBS website reports today (September 9, 2014).

A swastika and the words "Hail Hitler" were found scrawled inside a Star of David on September 7 along Morris Road in Spring Valley, New York.

Many Holocaust survivors live in the area and Rabbi Yisroel Kahan said this opens old wounds.

"This is something that's hateful and it's a shame and it will not be tolerated," Kahan said. "It's a combination of ignorance, hate, spitefulness."
